Default Teach me how to be abstract

Concrete, specific advice only please. If you can't measure it, you can't manage it.
This is of course part of my overall personal development plan to become a better member of TypC and a better person.
Part 1 Teach me to be serious and now...

You can't be abstract if you wanna be serious. You have to choose, man. Or else your brain will explode.

I could apply my seriousness to becoming abstract. I don't want to choose.

Actually, this makes sense to me. Ni > Ne for an ISFP. So in your case, becoming more abstract would mean developing xNxJ qualities, meaning you'd end up developing both at the same time.

Anyway, enough theory. Let me try giving you a situation...

Suppose someone says "Hello" to you. What do you usually assume this means? What else could it mean, and what environmental cues might prompt you to consider an alternative interpretation?

If you can come up with an answer to that, you're on your way to Ni development.

    It means they want something.

If they have a funny, shifty look on their face.

Hmm... okay. You didn't get it, but that wasn't bad for a first try.

    Let's try something else...

Okay, "Ni" usually means Introverted Intuition, right? Well, it can also mean the element Nickel, National Instruments, a Monty Python reference, and part of a Chinese greeting.

Do you understand that? Can you come up with other words that can be interpreted in more than one way? If you get this one, I can move on to explaining irony and sarcasm.

    You passed!

Okay, it's going to take me a while to bring irony and sarcasm down to earth for you, but I'll have something for you by the end of the day.
