@Forever

    When "subtle complication" gets old, boring or just isn't enough there's always the primal . The prime directive (survive & multiply) compels you. Whatever let's us sleep at night, right? It's not as if our design (genes) give one iota about your other, conscious, wants

    Love the cover pic. I picked a bad decade to quit smoking.

    It reminds me of...

    Smoking diamonds... yeah... . Which reminds me... the original writer/singer and therfore @Ingrid in grids by extension, because she introduced me to her.

    Imagine though what imbibing other precious substances. Take gold for example . The concept of this video is pure WIN!!! If your not familiar with Rammstein, here goes

    The portrayal of Snow White as a physically abusive, domineering, task mistress crack whore who uses the dwarves to get her fix and then ODs is HILARIOUS, imo. The model is a goddess as well. Which brings me back to smoking... I smoked for years off and on. This funny video of Bebe monologueing on the 'virtues' of smoking rang so true to me.

    I really could go on and on and on, but I shan't today.

    P.S. I'm sp last . Someone 'accused' me of being a So/Sp... *eyeroll*
    "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... Some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age. [QUOTE=SpankyMcFly;2694414]@Cloudpatrol Did you ever get into Spanish music during your time in Mexico? This group was quite popular back in Nam. Good stuff. Beto Cuevas tried a solo career but didn't do as well. I LOVE his voice, especially his low notes. He's one of those few singers who sound really good live as well. Easily top male vocals of all time, in my book.

    @Spanky Mcfly I did get into Spanish music & often went to live shows!

    Very occasionally I find words cheapen something - written or uttered - and really, there is nothing I can say that will capture how “Outside of Me” makes me feel.

    I will just thank you - for laying it at the doorstep of my world.

    I also was not familiar with Jenifer. {I am a huge fan of when women can be appealing even B4 revealing their bodies, and she does that in spades} Her voice and range are wonderful.

    Point taken from the lyrics! I will be careful not to fall into "the" trap

    I laughed and thought of you recently when: l was writing a paper and auto-correct kept translating “the high cost of living” to “the high cost of loving”.

    Here’s a Canadian song about reality from first flush to sharing life. I like the political metaphors. I only recently realized this song probably subconsciously/significantly contributed to the development of my theory that each family is it’s own distinct ‘culture’.

    I have great faith in fools. My friends call it self-confidence.

    How's it fit?

    Thank you for this! Different than what I normally listen to but intriguing.

    Have you ever experienced having an incredible dream but waking up prematurely & wishing you could be back inside it... So you attempt to fall asleep again, but are not able to re-capture the feeling?

    Yeah (smile).

    There was a time this would have been a snug fit, for sure.

    Now - although I still completely understand the inclination toward such feelings - I don’t relate to being besieged by saudade.

    I did listen to the whole album & the song that ‘speaks to me’ most is: The Fighter

    @Urarienev

    ...because this song conveys the intensity of a desire to connect with someone or something better than any other. The lead singer once said in the interview that this was one of the songs which best conveys what she's about in her music.
