I have, if I don't know someone and haven't interacted with them I find it a little odd to get a friend request without them saying hey first, I question why and if it looks like they're gonna be annoying about it I won't. The only one I’ve refused here turned out to be a friendly spamma-being though.

A limit of 10? I can't even think of 10 people in the real category.

Yes, the other people on my friend list need to accept that.

I was thinking about opening a thread like this.

Which is because I am curious about what friendship means to other forum members?

I ask since I don't any real use of that option instead of saying that you like someone.
Few people have requested my friendship and I have accepted since that looks as a wise chioice. But I don't see what that really means.
Especially since I am not close to them.
They are simply in my friends list and that is it.

Are there any ither suggestions on other type of analysis/presentation you would like to see?

Number of friends by dominant function
number of friends by length of time on the forum

perhaps what would be really cool is to look at linkage patterns. For instance most of my friends are ENTPs, INTJs or other enfps. I dont have many infps or infjs, as most of my post interactions tend not to be on threads they are on so much. I love infjs, I have no idea why i dont interact w them as much post wise.

So I bet you could map out type preferance patterns by mapping out friend networks and type. always a generalization but fun...

Maybe yours just works in a quirky way and does that extra step. I don't really get it.
You missed the joke -- I was comparing it to an STD.
(Which, honestly, it rather feels like much of the time.)

Oh! I guess I missed it because I've never had an STD, and tend not to feel that friendship is like one anyway.

I guess it's an INTP thing, with the inferior Fe and all.
    God, you're cold.
Yeah, it would be if you actually kept using the friends list at that point, anyway.

    - I've never had an STD either, thanks.
    - There's a difference between "friendship" and "getting Friended."

I wish I could have superior Fe like yours. Sigh, maybe someday!
