    I've never had that happen.

I've found that the friend system allows me to add and remove friends from my list individually.

Maybe yours just works in a quirky way and does that extra step. I don't really get it.

everyone uses every function about evenly. take NE for example. if there are those who don't use it much, then why are there such massive amounts of people constantly flowing through Wallmart with 20 items or less?

It doesn't actually do anything, though, does it? I mean, besides make a plus appear by their name when it's listed in certain places.

Do people actually reject friend requests? I never have. Why the heck would I do that?

No, it doesn't do much. The plus shows up when you add a friend immediately. It doesn't wait for the friend to add you.

I think there are options... where you can allow only your friends to see your blog, and other such things. It is basically a way for members themselves to control permissions.

Actually you gave me an interesting idea. I wonder if there are any non-mutal friends... and how many?

Whatever else this "friends" thing does, it can provide an NT (or whomever) with an endless source of fascination

I have 13 friends? How did that happen?

In a measure of ironicity, the degree to which something ironically mirrors something else, I don't even know what a "friend" does.

Does it mean they love me? They don't talk to me too much. I blame them.

    I love them all secretly.

They should make a 10 friend limit. Then we'd see where the chips fall.

They just randomly added you to their friends list because they liked some of your posts.

Absolutely nothing. It's just a formal way of showing that you liked a persons posts and are interested in reading more of them. It also makes it easier to find them and send a PM or visitor message.

If they did that, I'd refuse to have anyone on my list so that no one would feel excluded.

My real friends would know who they were anyway, though.
