My current avatar doesn't even contain a picture of Hitler.

Metamorphosis's avatar does, though! No one seems to get worked up about that. And it also has a witty slogan on it, which, in theory, should be perceived as trivializing history by some uptight poster child of political correctness.

I would also say that FMWarner's avatar could be quite offensive to a certain group of people, as well.

There is a certain reason why I put Nazi-related avatars up, not because I'm a Nazi, but out of rebellion of politically correct thinking.

At MySpace, for example, there is a vast number of fake profiles that belong to historical figures. People just do it for fun. There are often profiles for Adolf Hitler which get deleted within a few days, while other fake profiles of famous dictators, such as Joseph Stalin, stay put.

So this technically is an injustice. People may not agree with other's views, but regardless of your beliefs, they have a right to express them. And PC-ness is just what's stunning freedom of speech. People who get offended by jokes cannot possibly have a true sense of humor.

Perhaps athenian200 should change the OP to "Who else disapproves of Uberfurer's old avatar"?

    Really.

Done. Think the new title is more fitting?

Sweet! I've never been thought of as offensive before. It's like a busman's holiday.

I think it's funny and clever, but I guess I'm not a very good evangelical.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Just to be clear, I didn't say I was offended by FM's avatar.

A Nazi emblem is a picture of Hitler.
