    Default The selfless man...

A man shares his own views and knowledge with the world but has little need for the other party to share their views and knowledge to him.

Here, there is giving, no taking. But why isn't this considered selfless?

Sometimes the world thinks/feels it doesn't need what the man provides.
Dreams are best served manifest and tangible.

I accept no responsibility, what so ever, for the fact that I exist; I do, however, accept full responsibility for what I do while I exist.

Because said man most likely gets pleasure out of sharing his views and knowledge, and the other party likely gets no pleasure from either listening to said views, or in the man's stubborn refusal to hear their point of view.

So in reality, he is taking time and attention from the other person, and isn't giving the other person any acknowledgment or respect. So they are in fact taking without giving.

Therefore, it is not only not selfless, it is selfish.

Because everyone's need is to be paid attention to and to be listened to. The other person isn't given any attention, that "selfless" man shows no interest in him so that's why he's not selfless actually.

Well what I was getting at is that it's selfish for a person to share ideas without letting others share theirs, but it's selfless for a person to share his/her toys without asking for others to share theirs.

Toys are a limited commodity... opinions are, sadly, not.

Earth is rife with 'em, but in the vacuum of deep space, nothing! I smell market opportunity.

I sense peace and quiet, at long last... The endless darkness of the void cannot carry sound... a great mercy that would be.

Dude. You got to fill the entire universe with all varieties of market-tested ruckus to sell to the extraverts then save a few pockets of P and Q to sell at exorbitant prices to the hoity-toity introverts who think they're too good for all of the stuff you're selling to the extraverts. No wonder you TPs never become CEOs.

TP cannot become a CEO, it can only become a Halloween tree decoration!
