And aside from maybe the computer, we haven't invented many really great things in like 100 years, because we have everything we need. We're just making alot of improvements and accessorizing what we already have now. Not to mention that most people act like they're simply bored out of their minds... and I think they are.

Also, I don't like the fact that our western culture promotes independence and selfishness so much. It does not inspire people towards altruism and togetherness and the result is, imho, a gradual movement towards extinction.
    Wait hang on...
You're in favor of evolution and altruism?

These two points are incongruent to one another.
I mean... their definitions literally oppose one another.

Besides, Altruism is no good if someone's not being selfish.

Well, yes, I know that one of those traits will always overshadow the other but what I meant was that if the "intelligent" folks are not even being selfish in a way that best ensures their genetic survival, then they could at least be altruistic at heart, but I don't see much sign of that either aside from blowing smoke. It seems like it's every man for themselves. Independence is the basis of Libertarianism, too, which is an idealogy that is growing by leaps and bounds with the more "intelligent" folks.
