    Yes, actually. I've put probably fifteen deer in the freezer in my lifetime. I have venison chili in my lunch today.

    I think I've had venison before. I believe it was very tough. I don't think it was very fresh, but maybe it's supposed to be a bit gamey.

    I've also had bison (which is so funny in a wrong way since they serve it at Yosemite) and ostrich and I think maybe alligator and/or crocodile. And yes, pidgeons and cute fluffy little bunnies.

    Cause if you're gonna be an omnivore, you might as well go all out.

    Venison is tough and rather dry. I used venison in Hamburger Helper, and it turned out really good.

    The same is true of any meat, if you prepare it poorly. Treat venison as though it were beef, and you will get tough dry meat.
