Tons of dudes on base dip, ones I work with too. They leave their spit bottles around. Pretty vile.

Blech. I worked one summer with a guy who chewed tobacco - ran into the whole "spit can" and watching my step. There's nothing grosser than the spit can... oh, wait (scary memories surfacing...), the spit bottle. At least the spit can is opaque .

My husband started 'chewing' when he quit smoking. He 'chews' the little 'teabags' so the stuff itself stays all nice and neat but he does have the spit cup or bottle. He's as clean with it as he can be, I guess.

He can't get away with swallowing it, when he's using the little bags?

Yeah, that's why my friend started doing it, to quit smoking. And he took the "spit into an empty bottle" approach. Looked pretty gross.

Do Europeans smoke a lot of cigarettes? I got the impression they don't smoke much at all, except for marijuana. But I've never lived in Europe, so...

Right now Europe is acting in a way that it looks like that the goal is destruction of tobacco industry.

I also think that this industry must be exterminated.

    Just a comment on terminology--

Snuff is finely powdered tobacco that you snort through the nose.
Dip is the wet stuff you hold next to your gums.
Chewing tobacco you hold on the side of your mouth, and actually chew.

Leave it to a fellow North Carolinian to explain that!
