I don't know what it is or where it came from. But, I like it. There is something compelling to me about the mask. The surface that conceals but that is obviously false.
Isn't it interesting that the wearing of masks and face paints is an important component of many rituals in more primitive cultures? Why is this? Why is the mask absent from modern life? Maybe we wear our masks inside.
