    great observation, I was surprised to learn that indeed: I always use the same (left) thumb. No idea why?

    Judging by the wear on the left side of mine, I'm guessing I either use my left thumb, or reach really far with my right.

    What I mean is that because of that physical quality, each individual can decide which thumb they want to use. This stands in contrast to handwriting, which has a "conventional" way for holding a pen or pencil.

    Of course, that's why I thought it was funny that I use the left thumb to space, even though I'm right-handed. And since the poll results don't show 9:1 odds in favor of the right thumb, it looks like I'm not the only one.
