Of Course I feel a need to have the skills to survive post-apocalyptic contexts!

For example- I wish that I knew how to make suits that protect you from radiation.

Ah to have the skills of an architect or engineer whose specialization was bomb shelters.

To have the skills necessary to build my own Battlestar single handedly.

    To Knit.

Skills I'd have to improve ( or get ) in an apocalyptic world/country -

    Auto mechanic skills in general.

    Quick and accurate shooting skills.

    Battlefield "surgeon/medic" abilities and knowledge.

Mechanical engineering in general. Imagine having to build an aqueduct or mill wheel set-up.

Hand to hand combat skills ranging from wrestling and boxing, to martial arts throws and policemen tricks ( "come alongs" etc. )
"The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them that they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
Reichsfuhrer Herman Goering at the Nuremburg trials.

A couple years ago, I started practicing lockpicking...there was this mysterious door outside of my old place so I ordered some picks and torque wrenches and read a couple manuals. The MIT Guide was by far the best resource on it that I came across.
    http://www.lysator.liu.se/mit-guide/MITLockGuide.pdf

It turned out to be way harder and time-consuming than I thought it would be, and it took several months of practice and reading before I managed to open anything consistently. And, even still, the only locks I can open consistently and quickly, are usually just the poor-to-mid quality ones. But, it's a skill I'm quite proud of.

:p Clever. This post reminds me of a speech assignment on "How-To," one of the guys demonstrated on how to hotwire a car. It was so thug, in a good way, and the teacher was sooo slow (like a fat fly who just didn't get it). Another kid demonstrated his How-To speech on how to roll up marijuana. She just didn't get it. Hilarious.

If I had to prepare myself for post-apocalyptic conditions, what useful skill would I like to learn? How to set up a triage center (we need healthy pepes)/find ways to organize a kind of government where NFs/NTs will be in charge! I'd like to think of it as a time of rejoice, renewal, a break-away from (ESTJ) tradition. Hell yeah.

    I can:

    Hot-wire a car
    Pick some crappy locks.
Fix anything if you give me the tools to do so.
Shoot accurately with any gun, from almost any distance, with or without sights. (Exception is a .50 Desert Eagle, too much recoil for me.)

    I want to learn:

Stunt/Pursuit driving. (All the crazy stuff you see in movies).
Hand to hand combat skills. (I know a bit, I'd like to know a lot more).
    EDIT: Better free running/Parkour skills.

Free running/Parkour would be badass, I'd love to do that.

Actually, lock picking and hot-wiring cars is all I have left to really learn. Past that I have plenty of useful skills for most apocolypse/post-apocolypse situations. I just need supplies.
