It's the dainty and fancifulness of the fairy juxtaposed against the realism of the crude modern weapon, the lead pipe. The are out of context of their traditional settings. I doubt it would work if the fairy was carrying a sword.

I think it really works, because it portraits a sense of "I've had enough, I'm still going to be true to my ideals but I won't be triffled with"

Then again, maybe I just like fairy boobs.

    I liked her capris.
For some reason, my ability to focus on women's fashion has increased considerably.
(On the other hand, I totally missed the lead "smack" pipe.)

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft

I love the clothing colors, if not the styles. They are some of my favorite colors to wear.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
