    Everyone uses both.

It's like I can't post a damn thing in a thread involving type without Night pouncing on me.

If this is the sort of elementary school I-like-you-so-I-pick-on-you sort of thing, stop it. Or else I'll tell the teacher...

    I think you're overstating yourself.

In case that there are two/few Fs in same situation then this works.

But if there is a T in the equation this principle does not work anymore.
The possibility of an F to miss the real state of another person grows with with T of other person.

Of course it is generalization. In the case that we don't make generalizations this forum would lose large part of it's purpose.

    Ok.

But the main questions are: Why people do that and why they do it often?

    (that is my experiance)

Is it maybe because they would feel more secure if they know how the other person is feeling?

I don't know how often I do it. Probably more than I imagine. I'd have to check with the other person. That would kind of negate the reason for guessing.
If I knew I could adapt. Not to be secure, to know and adapt to the stimulus.

I'm drunk now hope this makes sense in the morning.

Perhaps... or it could be that they'd like to think that their feelings are validated -- they're valid if somebody else in the same situation is feeling that way -- or, probably more likely, projection is essential to people in general because it gives people a starting point in how to relate to the world.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, but when people take it too far despite overwhelming evidence, well... that's bad.
