I picked 2. I did note the bigger eyes on 3, but overall I think 2 is the most attractive because I perceive her smile as more genuine. It's like she's smiling because she's amused, whereas the three others look like they're posing for school pictures. I don't know what causes the difference in my perception though, or why I am equating attractive with an amused rather than a blank smile...

If I had to switch facial features with one of the three, I'd probably pick 3 instead. By that metric, which is probably better, I guess I should've voted 3 instead.

I also perceived two's smile to be the most genuine and real, but the hair! I couldn't get past it. Like FM said, it looked gray and dry-as-straw. Hair was probably the first thing I looked at, then face. I didn't pick three because I didn't like her hair; it looked rough and reddish, like she'd gotten a bad dye-job. Four's hair looked full and soft, AND she had a pleasant face. But number one seemed to have the silkiest, smoothest hair, and her complexion was rosy and vibrant. So one and four were my faves, based on those criteria. But two might have won, I think, if the criteria I was using had been realism and the smile, and if I had completely ignored her hair.

Yeah, I picked 2 for her smile. Four looked sneer-y in comparison. Three was sort of scarily overdramatically-colored. One was sort of forgettable, but had a nice rosy complexion though.

Maybe it's my computer screen, but I couldn't make out their hair very much at all (let alone its texture).

Haha, I know I did! And it's not like I don't care about hair normally, but the little we can make out in those pictures just didn't capture my attention.

    OMg, right??

    LOL

I read for face shape, round faces hadn't caught on so much in "thr west" as muh as they had for Asian, Africa, etc.

Have anyone of you seen the 'golden mean' mathematical mask thing for the 'perfect face'? It's modified by racial/ethnic background but more or less "beauitful faces" across racial lines will fit into the parameters and proportions of the 'perfect face'.

No, but I'd like to! What makes a face attractive has always interested me.

    Ditto.

    1 - 4 - 2 - 3 (very distant last) in order of attractiveness.

1 and 4 looked very similar to me but 1 looked more relaxed/natural. 3 looks so fake and overly made-up. I'm struggling to see why so many considered her to be the most attractive.

I can't really articulate why I chose 1 (with 4 a close second). I think it's how natural the smile looked, but I'm not sure.
