The more people convince themselves that no one else can live up to their level, the more they alienate themselves from other people. I would suggest looking into why you're struggling to connect to others. Are your expectations for others to high? Is your opinion of yourself to high? Do people have problems understanding how you communicate? These are just a few of the questions that you should probably ask yourself.

There's some good advice being offered in this thread.
I recommend pondering on it for awhile.

All I would add is that it's easy to have one view of oneself and be projecting an entirely different view.

So if you can get out of your head and look at yourself as an outsider might, that always helps -- it helped me immensely (except when I got a little too neurotic about it).

    It's all their fault.

I want to get married because I want someone to blame. Someone who is handy. Someone who is obviously mucking things up.

You are all too bloody nice here - I want someone with a drug problem. Someone with a criminal history. Someone with an intractable personality disorder. Someone who is cruel to animals.

I want a cunning, devious nasty who I can blame.

I am looking for a dame I can blame with a clear conscience.

Sigh. I wish I could be that woman.
Hmmm, maybe Del is available! (goes looking)

EXACTLY!!!! This is what I meant. You cannot expect anyone to see the world exactly like you do because you are a unique individual. If you truly are universally gifted, that quality makes you even less like everyone else. You can always look at things in two ways. Either you can feel bad for yourself because no one see things like you do, or you can be happy. Take a look at how the average Joe looks at things. Maybe he can offer you a different perspective. But if you give off a vibe that we are all miserable peons, we will of course cast you aside. People want folks that lift them up, not tear them down.

Be happy in the fact that you are gifted, not angry. Be available to people, not judgmental. Be open to people, not closed. Then you shall surely find the love and camaraderie that you seek.

There's a nice side to you, Jennifer. So blaming you would only make me feel guilty.

And probably all your friends are as nice as you - as like attracts like.

You are the kinda dame I could take home to my mother.

What could I do with you that wouldn't make me feel guilty? - Not bloody much.

I am looking for the girl my mother warned me about.

I am looking for the girl who would steal me from my mother.

    A real mother-******.

A dame who would allow me to breathe easily with a clear conscience.
