Post [Redacted]®Central: A History of Typology Central

The year is 2005: George W. Bush was reelected for a second term, Gas cost $3.00, Hurricane Katrina would devastate the state of Louisiana and Youtube would launch...And a forum was founded, its name was INTPcentral.
This is not the story of that forum, but of the sister forum that was created two years later, as a containment for all the non-INTPs who were quickly overtaking the active INTPs on that site. This is a story of the then MBTIcentral, which would evolve into its current form, Typology Central.

    The year is 2007

    And MBTI Central was born.

    • NCentral closed.
    • And influx of non-INTPs, and a few dissatisfied former INTPc members, migrated to INTP Central.
    • The Administration of INTPc feared the new immigrants.
    • Two lowly mods came up with identical plans to "solve" this "problem" for INTPc.
    • One of the INTPc Mods decided to run his site, the other decided to let others run his site.
    • Clearly, Mod #1 was more ambitious than Mod #2.
    • Mod #2's site was the first incarnation of MBTIc.
    • Unfortunately, the recent immigrants of INTPc, and the disgruntled members of INTPc, didn't like the original MBTIc, which caused it to hover in obscurity.
    • The conflicts at INTPc grew greater still.
    • Mod #2 decided to start a new MBTIc while becoming totally involved in its development this time (eg, Mod #2 learned a valuable lesson).
    • Hence, in April of this year, the new MBTI Central was revised, pushed, and developed into this little old site you have before you today.

Haight (doesn't read your posts) was the founder and original forum, and was Dr. Haight on INTPc. To wit he was an actual Doctor, of what I don't know. He split time between INTPc and MBTIcentral, however he was not a man to mince words, he had no ambiguity to which he preferred. And one had to respect his candidness on that topic.

He asked me to spearhead it because people trusted me, I guess. And he didn't want the non-INTPs thinking they were just being pawned off because he didn't like them.
Most of the other mods in the beginning were other non-INTPs who were trustworthy. He also chose a bunch of people who had moderated at the old N-Central, which was taken offline suddenly a year or two prior.
@Ivy is, the sweetest women in the world and agreed to give me some essential context for the time that I wasn't here on the forum in 2007. I can't really make a unbiased post about her. But factually she was the second member here and a trusted figure from INTPcentral also the longest serving madmin.

He was the third member and a madmin, also moderator on INTPc. He, Haight and Ivy were the big 3. Till MacGuffin was banned for mysterious reasons that won't be elaborated in this post as it happens farther down the line.

@cafe was easily the most candid of the staff, and wave very family focused. A christian woman who was well a breath of fresh air. Was always honest, and had no issues defending her own beliefs on INTPc of all places. She was a tougher cookie then most would give her credit for.

Geoff had a weird thing he used to do, where he'd leave he'd sign every post he made. It didn't make alot of sense on a message board. He was part of the original madmin staff, another import from intpc. He also put in quite a bit of time here... though he was pretty nondescript if I'm honest. Geoff would form a relationship with another member on the forum at a later point of the forums life.

Identifying as ESFJ, the exact opposite of what many of the immigrants from INTPc wanted on a mod staff. She was probably the most effective mod on this site however. She was decisive, clear minded and extremly intelligent. Another Dr, and a friend to all. @proteanmix.

Then it's to keep things consistent across the forums.

In 2007 the forum had a different architecture, and while it was similar layout it was a very different place visually. It looked like this:

Blogs from INTPc were transferred over and brought to MBTIcentral, meaning that sense INTPc fell they are likely the only part of the site that still exist.

In fact it's not well known but the SP arthouse and SJ Guardhouse in the really early days of the forum were the same forum and were only divided a bit in to the development into the site.

also in 2007 the first chat client was implemented in October nearly 6 months after the site launched.

A working reputation system was intoduced in December before being revamped the next year into a quick pm system we've kept sense.

In those days you play videos in posts, and liking wasn't an options.

In the next post I'll go other members who weren't mods (at the time) however remain relevent, and maybe some bannings from that time as well.

This is how Falcarius remembers it:

*INTP Central sister site, N Central, closed down as Division56 completely flipped out at a member , and decided to shut down N Central.
*As NCentral was closed down and most of the non-INTP's came back to INTPc.
*The members on INTPc got annoyed and Haight wondered what the best thing to do was.
*Haight decided to let Raincrow007 start up the original MBTIc forum, that he owned the domain name of,
*Raincrow007 later got annoyed for some reason and decided to ban all the regular members on INTPc apart from Falcarius.
    * Haight made this website
*Another moderator on INTPc decided to make another website called 'MBTI Nebulous' but Haight obviously endorsed MBTIc.
*MBTIc became Typology Central when Haight was threatened with being sued.

All I can say is I wish I known Haight but I met cafe for a short time.. and got a few likes from Ivy even though they were extremely rare for me to get.

Yeah that forum looks like it was Windows 95 material.

    So... um, cool.

Haight eventually destroyed INTPc as vengeance against the INTP uprising against his neglect of the site. He almost did something similar to TypeC through neglect.

I think something like this is going to be written on TypoC's headstone you know.

For a while now I've been thinking that what has passed for new threads or posts in about, say, two, possibly three years, hasnt been as interesting as the much older threads, although I'm not sure the simply necroing a bunch of old, old threads is going to change the forum much.

For a typology forum its sort of strange to see that the trending posts are ALWAYS, "I hate feminists, liberals, I love Trump, capitalism" repeat ad nauseum.
