Are you including any action which involves lips + skin + light sucking when you say kisses? Because that may change my answer if you don't just mean kisses on the mouth.

For the moment, kisses could go, though I'd rather both stay. With hugs (with people I know, not those random people whose name I just learned 5 minutes ago), I feel safe. In those moments of my world tumbling down into itty bitty bits around me I would rather have a hug than a kiss to help me hold myself together. I know why this is so. When I was little and upset, my mother would hug me until I calmed down. Rarely did anyone in my family kiss me--on the cheek, of course--and when they did I always sort of scooted away.

If that makes me seem cool, then yes I do.

If not, then I used Google.

I'm the same way. I agree.

If I absolutely HAD to choose (and this poll clearly indicates that I do.) I would say I'd rather have hugs..

I spent a great deal of life kiss-less.. I don't know if I could say the same about hugs. Hugs range from happy light-hearted friendship hugs, to tokens of sympathy and good-byes, to intimite embraces between two people that care for each other.

Kissing is a very personal, private thing, albeit I do the whole friendship kiss hello's on the cheek all the time, and sympathetic kisses to make a boo-boo better and kisses on the forehead goodnight.. The hug expresses the broadest range of emotion for me, so I suppose I'd have to prefer it.

Hugs. Because I can't live without "those" kisses.

Well you can't hug your way to 3rd base, that's for sure.
