I always feel like "well, I already read it. Might as well stick my two cents in." Usually I'm glad I do.. but I feel compelled to say things sometimes whether I like the subject or not. Needless to say, I rarely read something that doesn't interest me, and if it interests me of course I want to put my thoughts and opinions in.

Lots of times on this forum ( which is new for me ) I won't know ahead of time if the thread will be of interest to me. If I'd been here a long time, I might be able to judge simply based on which individuals are participating, if it is worth taking a look at. The titles themselves are often not that indicative. A subject could get a lot of bland responses where no one wants to break new ground, or it might do the opposite. There might even be a digression that is interesting.

That's true. I'm starting to get a feel of it all, but I haven't been around very long either. I've missed out on some awesome heated debates because I had no idea that one topic turned into another.

Pretty lame. I lean pitifully toward the "don't post" side.

I normally don't post unless there is something I can add, or unless it is an intentionally humorous thread. I'd rather not post, than add, "Yeah, I agree/disagree with that."

Certain sections of the board I avoid entirely. I'm interested in Philosophy, but I hate reading those mile long posts that use technical-ish jargon in the Philosophy section. And if anyone goes into the Type Functions discussion in a post I normally bail out. I don't care enough to research it so I can post a rebuttal.

    Somewhere between 20:1 and 30:1.

I have a fairly high post rate, however.

This means I spend too much time on this forum.

I read the whole thread before replying, unless it's very long or contains a great deal of long posts - in which case I'll read the OP and then the last few to see where it's got to. I often read a thread and don't reply at all though.
