It's just a number. Like six. Six is a number.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

For the same reason I don't post what kind of bubble gum I chew, where I buy my gasoline from, or how many times I've been on vacation.

    It doesn't matter.

My mother was fifteen years older than my father. But we always thought she was two years younger.

So hiding her age made me possible.

Want my Social Security number and my address too?

If you read a lot of my posts, my age range is probably pretty clear- and if it isn't then it musn't be very important anyhow.

Ageism is very much alive in RL. Long time ago, but I still remember the first time I was amazed some man opened the gas station door for me. Not because I don't open doors for other people all the time or get doors opened for me- it was the expression on his face. Not so much the mild friendliness on his face as much as the absence of the "juvenile delinquent/dirty teenager" expression.

Hmm I'm sensing lots of hostility in this thread. Sore subject?

My age is beyond meager human ken.

I'm restricting it for your own well-being. You should be grateful.

    Yep.

You'd be surprised how many people can't count that high. My orchestra class, for example, has difficulties counting to three...
