Yeah, same, I don't want to be judged for my age.

I don't give my age as I want you to talk to me as you see me to be, and not on a set of predetermined factors. Most people will talk differently to a Generation X person than if they were a Baby Boomer. I can't remember the term used for the younger generation. Latch key kid generation??

Besides those who have gotten to know me know my age. But for security purposes I don't give my full name and date of birth. I myself have gotten into private background information just from sites just as these.

I found my mom's address and phone number just using her name and state.

    and just for dangerous fun.

I have found information on locate inmates, if someone happens to drop a name also. For 20 or 40 dollars well the world is open, not to mention whois and other ip address locators. The world wide web is a wonderful place..

Now why is everyone posting their age and name???

Cause I expect that 99% of the population wouldn't give a crap about literally finding me and if they did I'm not concerned about what they'd do with that information.

Financial information is something I'd never ever post online but otherwise I fail to see the drama, there are people on this site who know my home address.

Pretty much anyone who uses fb would have more information available than name and age, many people have family as friends who would provide more information for those who want to know, why is that such a scary thought here but not there? Why would people believe they have privacy?

What's the worst that could happen if someone did find me from online interaction that couldn't be done by some random stranger on the street?

Like Subby said, I see online as no more private than anywhere else.
