Yeah most of the stuff went to the west across NoVA/Maryland, but down here in way southeastern MD we got nothing but overcast. The "center" of it's supposed to pass over Salisbury so hopefully we get something but otherwise this is lame.

Nothing but occasional ~15mph winds, clouds are moving fast but no rain. Looks like the "eye" is going to pass between Cambridge and Salisbury and we're way east of that, so I doubt we'll get much. Damn

OTOH, tomorrow should be beautiful beach weather!

I'm worried about Ike. I live in "the cone of uncertainty." The storm itself isn't bothering me as much as my dad - his personality has become more and more anxiety-ridden over the last few years, and so now he's already talking about evacuating and watching the weather channel every 10 minutes. I can't handle his shit for the next week, lol. He acts like we've never had a hurricane coming at us before...he's lived in Florida for like 26 years now!

Maybe your poor father is just a bit rattled - I know when I was a child, we didn't get many hurricanes up through the capital, but in the 1990's, we were getting barraged with them. After my third major storm, I started getting a little twitchy when hurricane season started.

We had some badass pouring down rain, but that's about it. The wind's died down, no rain, it's just gloomy outside. Lame!

We wound up with about six inches of rain in total. I spent the day kayaking.

I never did see any significant wind, but I might have just slept through it.

It poured all day. Saw a flaming power line down along a highway. No damage, other than minor flooding in very low-lying areas. Basically, no worse than a normal T-storm.
