...a Taco Bell in Hutchinson, MN, 16 miles south of the twineball. And yes, I visited the twineball again (did you really have to ask? sheesh.). And Twineball Antiques was open, so I got the T-shirt!

    Pictures to follow.

First up, I recorded the GPS coords of the twineball. The north edge of the gazebo housing the twineball was at 45.0964N, 94.41024W. The south edge was at 45.09631N (same west, of course). This would put the center of the twineball at 45.096355N, 94.41024W. Just now checked, and geocaching.com says there's a cache at 45.09623N, 94.4101W. Should have guessed there'd be one around the twineball. How could there not?

Okay, all I had with me was my PDA camera phone, which I apparently had set to thumbnail mode (all the photos are 320 x 240). So tilt those bifocals.

The faithful logbook. You can see here people signing from Brooklyn, Ireland, Kansas, and New Zealand (that's a kiwi sticker in the lower left).

And signed by yours truly. If you can't make out all the text, it reads as follows:
    The Return of Martoon!
    Aug. 30, 2008
    The twineball continues
    to sustain me.
(tell them the twineball sent you)

As I pulled into town, I discovered that I missed Twine Ball Days on Aug. 9. As if that didn't sting enough, here I learn that I missed Roger and Maribel Gilmer (they're my favoritest!!!) a mere 5 days ago! Argh!

On the upside, I learned that Twine Ball Antiques, across the street and up a block, was open until 5 pm. It was now 4:55 pm. I hustled up the street, and made it in just as the lady was bringing stuff in from the sidewalk.

I got an amazingly cool Twine Ball tie-dye looking t-shirt, and a bumper sticker. I'll grab photos of those later. I was going to get the coffee mug, Christmas ornament (a glass bulb lined inside with twine), and a little ball of twine labeled "Twine Ball Starter Kit" (what every young aspiring twineballer needs). I didn't have enough cash on me. Twine Ball Antiques doesn't take plastic, believe it or not.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

Martoon, I've been waiting a long time to say this but I've been holding back because I'm secretly intimidated by introverts. However, it's time I just came out with it.

    You're awesome, IMO.

    There.

First step, extricating shirt from under cat. If you don't know just how heavy this cat is, you can't really appreciate what an undertaking this is. This is an extra large, tent-like shirt, to give you some idea of scale.

Cat and shirt in proper stacking order.

Close-up of the beautiful transfer on the shirt.

Nature returns to its preferred order within seconds.

Woah. I MUST visit the twine ball. Or even just have a t-shirt to wear so I can impress people by making them THINK I visited the twine ball.

    Awesome.

Despite your accomplishments in midwestern travel, I must say the most impressive thing to me is that a Taco Bell has public wi-fi.
