    You're right.

I've personally been called stupid by several INTPs and INTJs.

correct me if i'm wrong, but from what read, ENTJ's often try and think things out perfectly, turn every stone themselves. so when they're debating/discussing with other people they often just break out that conclusion that they've come to before. i know for a fact that i've experienced that personally with an ENTJ, and at the time, it seemed completely irrational. it sounded like he just could not listen to my logical reasoning. in retrospect after i've talked to his son about it, it seems rational for him.

don't know if it is, but what you just talked about may just be that.

animenagai - I've had that with ESTJ's but not ENTJ's...

murkrow - are you sure they weren't just saying YOU were stupid, or did they specifically say that what they said about you was generally true for your type?

man i'm happy that i FINALLY found i quote to back me up. took me a long time for some reason and i was getting a bit self conscious :P

    ENTJ description

Listening is a problem for me because I have probably already thought out things thoroughly, done my homework, and reached an answer before I even get to the stage of presenting it to other people.

Yeah I've had to go through that one with my ENTJ's, teaching them to listen lol I just had to devise a million ways to tell a person 'you missed a spot', and then let the initial wave of reaction wash over me before calmly saying again, 'yeah, but you missed a spot' and when the waves have all worn themselves out I can then describe, explain and demonstrate what they missed and why it's important to alter plans on account of it.

After a few times of doing that, they came to trust me and take me more seriously, and they were gradually trained to listen first, growl later lol

That not emoting all over the place is attributable to a deficiency in recognizing and understanding complex emotions rather than to a plain old disdain for such emoting.
