    Default Man Bleeds Green

    This is an interesting article.

Read verrrry carefully. (There's a quiz.)

Man Bleeds Green Blood, Shocks Surgeons

A man undergoing leg surgery in Canada has stunned doctors after he bled a green-black blood that has been likened to that of Star Trek character, Dr Spock. Vulcans have green blood, according to the Star Trek story.

The patient had been taking high doses of migraine medication, which caused a condition called sulfhaemoglobinaemia. Sulfhaemoglobinaemia occurs when sulfur enters into the red blood cells' haemoglobin.

The man had to undergo the surgery on his legs after falling asleep in the sitting position.
    Who's the Star Trek character?
What prompted the surgery? Um... EEK?

Obviously, he must have been in a grad program - his family and friends all thought he was dead.

That would be very hard to do (Yes, I realize the last post was a joke, but my logic section must add something to this.)

The colors are based on which chemicals are bonded to the iron in hemoglobin, so to bleed rainbow, the person would somehow have to have several chemicals capable of making the bonds, that had somehow not mixed on the blood, and happened to align themselves correctly to form a rainbow.

What about replacing the blood cells with tiny prisms?

Wasn't this mentioned in nearly every post before yours?

Any rainbows from refraction would probably get mixed together and canceled, thanks to the prism not being oriented the same way after some time in blood. Rainbows from diffraction in the prisms may or may not exist, I haven't seen enough diffraction to take a good guess what would happen.
