Default Specialized or 'high impact' volunteering

I was wondering if anyone has volunteered their time for something using a skill they specialize in. If so, what did you do? For example, you do something in the field of accounting so you do the accounting for a volunteer organization.

I teach kids in physics and mathematics in an after-school voluteering project. At the end of every month the school buys me a box of beer .

I came to that because my sister had to went to the class of students, who learn slowly. And then I have stayed with that for the past few years.

All those students are pretty care-free and rebellious, but I have managed to find my ways to make their topics intresting.

I once had a plan to do mental health nursing in the army, come out with too much money and use my knowledge for traveling about doing this:

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

I do businees systems, so I volunteer with a local snowboard/ski race club. I redid their registration system, accounting and payrolls systems.

I think too many volunteer organizations burn out their volunteers. I have been serving for over 7 years and feeling the effects now. I also do a lot of race organization on the weekends, when the season is over, I really need a rest.

I'm a writer/cataloguer and I proofread my synagogue's newsletter. My husband is the Internet Manager where he works and he's helped with many school websites. I know many booksellers who volunteer at Friend of the Library sales.
