Buy an electric razor already and a beard trimmer if you're so inclined. At the minimum you will reduce the amount of refuse you are producing.

If you are concerned, stop at the pharmacy and get a sharps disposal container. They're free here in Canada, not sure for you though. However, the purpose is to collect things like blades and syringes etc, things that could puncture through garbage bags and injure others. Then when full (it takes a long time) you just take it back to the pharmacy and voila! Problem taken care of!

Apparently this is a staple of old homes (our home was over 100 years old when we lived in it). If you have a mirror medicine cabinet check to see if it has one of these slots on the back wall of it. If there is one, the purpose of it is to throw away razor blades.
Oh yes, we had one of those in the medicine chest of our basement bathroom when I was a kid. The house was built in the 20's, that bathroom maybe in the 50's so it was pretty standard.

like, what was the plan with these razorblades? just collect and rust until doomsday? is it part of the cabinet so the outside of it catches them?

My friend/neighbor put his spent razorblades on top of his bathroom mirror- when he moved out there was a huge pile of them.
I have only shaved with a razor once, about 7 years ago.

I've always just thrown mine away... But, that's probably not the safest thing I suppose. Maybe I'll start wrapping them? Not sure what would be a better solution.
