My taste is all over the place.

But I can put on some orchestra dubstep in the background anytime to enjoy myself.

(for example listen to the part that starts at 6:14 (its a two steps from hell remix, whom I also enjoy very much and even own a couple of actual like real physical cd's from them.). It's so good.

I like loud emotionally upbeat and aggressive music with good intense lyrics, mostly about darker themes. I enjoy good guitars, drums and basses. My favorite genres are grunge, alternative rock, hard-rock, classic rock, punk/rock, thrash metal, death metal, folk metal and gothic metal/rock.
This is a great example of the kind of music I like most.

eclectic. I really hate the first question.

I don't know. It depends on my mood.

I don't place much importance on lyrics, although I might make exceptions once in a while. When IxFx musicians discuss their music in interviews, it bores me to tears hearing about "what motivated" the lyrics or "the message" they were trying to get across. I'm far more interested in hearing about the creative process behind the instrumental part, i.e. reading Doug Yule explain how multiple guitar solos were layered on "What Goes On" to create what almost sounds like a bagpipe fed through an amp on the third VU LP. I really don't give a shit what message Lou Reed wants to convey or how one day he heard that fine, fine music and his life was saved by rock and roll.

That said, I'll always take thought inducing and/or humorous lyrics over meaningful lyrics.

Hmmmm... Interesting. It's refreeshing to hear a different point of view. For me, I could go either way with lyrics, as long as they aren't
    A) repetitive
    B) offensive to any gender
    C) racist
    D) offensive to any sexuality
Although this may not be true, I think the lyrics can make or break a song. The song doesn't need to have lyrics to be good, but if it does, the lyrics have to be at least decent.

Yeah, see, offensive lyrics don't usually offend me, although base fart humor and that sort of thing don't usually appeal to me.

Even old racist country songs amuse me, not because I agree with the lyrics, but because I find them hilariously absurd and outdated.

Oh wow. If a racist song comes on I go all beserk and go on a rant if it's okay with the people around me and I analyze the singer and why he or she wrote that crap and yeah...

The sound definitely. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the lyrics. I do like thought inducing, humorous lyrics though.

For the sound I don't relate much to either option in the poll. Something I can dance to or it having to be tranquil is not important. What's important regarding sound is that it intrigues my mind in some way.

None of the options describe what makes a good song to me... The music needs to be interesting, technical and well thought out. Also needs to be effective in its artistic goals.
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion man.
