    Default The Burning Question

If you could have one question answered, what would it be?

Next week's lotto numbers; what's at the bottom of the money pit at oak island; is bigfoot real; is there life after death; what do women really want; are we alone in the universe; what will the world look like 1000 years from now; etc

"Life After Death" or "Alone in the Universe," since they're the most all-encompassing. Though I'm pretty sure I know the answer to the first one enough to safely rule it out.

lottery numbers, for sure. i'm a sensor so philosophizing isn't my strong suit. even if i knew the answers to universal mysteries about 'life after death' or alien life on other planets, unless i had additional information that is practically useful in some way, it's not going to benefit me or humanity. and if i couldn't prove it then nobody would believe me anyway. i'd just become a nutjob.

I would ask for an explanation of the biggest mystery of all: consciousness, the Universe becoming aware of itself through us. Like, what the hell? Why did parts of something completely objective acquire something called subjective awareness? I mean sure, we've (sort of) got it figured out on a biological, chemical and physical level, but how do we explain matter becoming aware?

It's even stranger than ideas about the size of the Universe or its beginning (or lack thereof).
