    Default Would you?

Was just thinking today (as I have thought many times before) about how I would sacrifice my happiness for the happiness of those around me. Then I thought to myself well anyone would. But then I really wondered if that's true and if there are a few people who wouldn't do so. So the two questions are:

Would you sacrifice your happiness and be miserable all your life at the expense of the happiness of everyone you know and love?
Would you sacrifice your happiness and be miserable all your life at the expense of the happiness of everyone in the entire world?

Of course assuming that both are irrefutably possible.

My answer is yes for both. I just generally feel good knowing that other people are having a good time whether it includes me or not (which I guess is very much my 9w1 coming out).

Explain your choice if you can please!

P.S. I think I used 'at the expense of' incorrectly, it looks wrong... but you guys know what I mean.

There isn't much I wouldn't do for the people I love. The rest of the world, not so much.
I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

Oh man that's hard. What's the point of me being miserable? I only have one life to live. Could the people I love be happy if they know I'm miserable? But being happy when others are miserable is going to make me miserable too. Nobody can win. I dunno. I don't love anybody that much to make such a sacrifice.

I guess if I really had to choose, I'd go with the people I love.

If you would do this for the people you love.. Why not for everyone else?

Yes, for the people I love. But I doubt my misery would make any difference to the world.

Can't sacrifice something you can't control so no....I wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to since happiness is fleeting and ever elusive. That would be like catching Hermes in a jar and making him take the place of Atlas or Prometheus - simply impossible and a fruitless endeavor.

Would I sacrifice for people...the answer is yes...

But I'm never under the pretense that it's my happiness.
