I've met several NHL players. And once, we were at a Baskin Robbins and the Attorney General ( for NC ) started talking away to us. A very interesting guy - he was the lawyer who issued Richard Nixon the subpoena.

    Leon Jaworski?

I remember the summer of 1974 very well; we listened to the impeachment trial in the break room at work.

Actually, it was Rufus Edmiston. He was a young guy when they began impeachment proceedings. Wow - I'll bet watching that as it was occurring must have been mind- blowing.

Twenty years ago, my family went backstage after a Peter, Paul and Mary show. My grandfather (whose Jones Street-parked Volkswagen minibus it is on The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, oddly enough) had somehow made the acquaintance of Mary Travis. Travis, materteral, greeted us warmly and kissed my sister and I on the cheek.

Some friends and I were going out to the theater Aug 8, 1974, but one guy insisted on staying home to hear Nixon resign. Those were heady days.

That's right! His butcher shop (on its third owner) is right up the street.

I once had five minutes' chat and an autograph from Phil Vischer (the voice of Bob the Tomato).
