"Low" was the big hit for them, but "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)" and "Get Off This" were always on alt-rock radio in the mid-1990s. "Euro Trash Girl" got some play, too.

According to the credits, it was Teenage Fanclub doing "Take the Skinheads Bowling." I've met that band once. Tremendous Scottish accents. They were more popular than CVB ever were, so I guess that played a part.

I wasn't kidding about it being on my Zune. I am not a huge fan or anything. It's more interesting than enjoyable. I know he was in with the downtown NYC "No Wave" scene. And he's put out like 9,000 albums.

He's an interesting guy. I went to one of his shows where he dissected a "cadaver." I may have blown this up in my memory but I THINK it included a Ronald Reagan vibrator in the penisal area. I know there was a Reagan mask for the face. He does a nice cover of 8 Miles High but most of the jamming I can't really get into.

I am predisposed to like any man who plays an "electric rake" onstage.

The rake thing is much cooler as a concept than a reality. Trust me.

I haven't heard low for quite some time, quite some time indeed, and I was singing it less than an hour ago. Just out of the blue.

I like it, but I always preferred "Teen Angst." I love that Southwestern highway, top-down-on-the-convertible rock riff, and the lyrics are so gloriously bratty.
