Just got a text from my mom with a selfie, and this caption: "Today's hair. Evaluate please?"
EJCC: "The Big Questions in my life right now: 1) What am I willing to live with? 2) What do I have to live with? 3) What can I change for the better?"
Coriolis: "Is that the ESTJ Serenity Prayer?"

    !

While they're similar in hilarity, I highly doubt it -- mine is an INFJ 1w2.

She's been obsessing about her hair recently because she's planning on writing a book (or two, or five) and wants a really, really classy book jacket photo.

Mom: Quick, there he is, quick come look, he's a huge blob of a man, ugh isn't it grotesque?
    Me: I'm really not interested
    Mom: Hmph

My mom is always getting obsessed with the latest diet or health fad, and she will talk about it endlessly, whether you want her to or not. The other day she was telling me about some diet book she was reading, and she seriously would not stop. After over an hour, this conversation took place.

Me: "Respectfully, Mom, if you tell me one more thing about your diet, I might scream."
Mom: "I thought you were interested in health!"
Me: "I am, but I'm not a fanatic about it."
Mom: "If you're exercising, then you're a fanatic."
Me: "...I don't even know how to address that statement."
Mom: "I'm sorry, I can't help it! When I'm interested in something, I want to tell everyone!"
Me: "I know, Mom, but you have to realize that not everyone may want to hear it. At least, not for over an hour. If I talked to you about octopuses for an hour, would you want to listen?"
Mom: "Of course I would listen! You only talk when you have something interesting to say!"

At this point, I started getting a headache.

Our wedding dresses were short. As I'm climbing out of a big old pickup truck with a photographer aiming my way, I look at my mom and I say...
"oh God, okay, here I go, there's no graceful way to do this."

    *Upskirt*

    My mom laughing hysterically...

Me: Are you laughing at me? Why are you laughing??

Mom: "There's no graceful way to do this" and you were right!

In response to my mom posting a photo on Facebook of a plastic snake holding salt and pepper shakers:

Dad: "Unlike Ozzy Osborne and Martha Stewart, I do not believe snakes are decorative."

My mother once innocently asked, "what's a sand ni**er?"
