    Default Sense of humour

British and american humour seem sometimes very different from italian & french.

On the other hand I have some friends from Holland and Germany who often SEEM very serious

People from Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland are considered as being "much nicer and human" about their jokes.

    Those are generalities of course.

Which country are you from ? Do you enjoy any kind of humour ? Which style do you prefer ?

Which kind of humour is yours ?
Who are your favourite humorists ?

Would you say you have (more or less) the same sense/kind of humour as everybody else in your country ?

I lose my shit over malfunctioning appliances and silly noises, and find nearly all comedians obnoxious and unfunny.

The ones I've seen don't really tickle the mind. Dad jokes, if delivered properly, cracks me up.

I found this comment on reddit by this user whose name I can't remember. It goes:

"We have a genetic predisposition to diarrhea. It runs in our jeans."

Also, I can't spell "diarrhea". I had to look it up.

I have a dry sense of humor. Though online I'll use a lot of emoticons because I'm playing. Like I'll make a sarcastic dry joke and throw a sad face and sadly, people think I'm serious. Ugh .. I enjoy most modes of humor though. Morbid sense of humor I have to be careful about .. Some people don't like that. Also, crude humor I can do. I just don't do raunchy. If others use it, I can care less. But my line is generally around that area of humor. Pretty much my entire sense of the world is through the eyes of a 6w7. Life is just a tragic comedy as far as I'm concerned.

    'Merica.

My type of humor is pretty crude, and only joke about certain things around people that can handle it.

It can be sophisticated, but I also like boob and fart jokes.
I've had this ice cream bar, since I was a child!

I can't either. In french, just the fact to spell "diarrhée" means there is something wrong with you.

I know some quite sophisticated boobs, and I can, for sure, do some very sophisticated farts.

(that's why my neighbours think I'm rather discret)

    No joking.

I am from New Zealand (so the Anglosphere) and my humour is highly adaptable. It really depends on the situation.

Sometimes I like to shock and outrage people, and will deliberately exaggerate statements, make degrading analogies and comparisons to provoke a reaction. I enjoy politically sensitive subjects because people treat them with more respect than they deserve.

My humour can also be ironic and sarcastic, generally when I am responding to something stupid. I like pointing out to people a consequence of their ideas that they may not have thought of.

Whatever the case, I use humour to make a point that I otherwise wouldn't be able to achieve. Good humour works towards this purpose. Whereas while you might laugh at a dog taking a shit in the street, you don't really learn anything from it.

I find mainstream Brazilian humor too predictable. Mainstream American humor seems too crude. Mainstream humor is probably bad anywhere, for different reasons.

I'm a fan of Chris Rock and Bill Hicks. When a small part of me gets like 'man you can't say those things!', while the other part can't help but laugh, that's the sweetest spot. A balls + wit combo.
