So I guess to sum it all up it’s about the booze, food, tears, boredom and drunken dancing. Good times

Well, I know my side of the wedding party will mostly be nerds as that's what my friends mostly consist of and I don't think I'll be trying to drag much for family into it. Don't know what the other side will be like, though, since I'm not even dating right now.

Everyone else has covered everything though, pretty much. A friend of mine got married and there was much playing of Nintendo DS at the reception while their wedding march was a remix of Final Fantasy music.

I have bad experiencies with weddings. I went to some when I was a child, and they never let me take my Game Boy with me : ( So I was always bored as fuck.
Now I'm older, and they won't let me take my PSP with me. So I don't go.

    EDIT:

dude.. i keep imagining myself as a groom in front of all those people and it makes me want to not do the whole thing. i wonder if there's a better way to get married... one that take puts no attention me, all the attention on the bride, and where there's possibly food AT the ceremony.

There's always eloping. Then you can eat wherever you want afterwards.

screw it... i'm getting married in my favorite bar, hahaha. not sure if that'll ever happen. as long as it's cool and not lame.

dude... a reception at a sweet pub wouldn't be half bad. i hate hotels anyway. i'd need to marry one highly unconventional girl if i plan on pulling this off...

The attention usually is on the bride, you're just window dressing.

That's true. Guys are lucky in that respect.

Anyway, that's why we eloped and just had a party a month later with the minimum amount of traditional stuff (just a 40 second dance) and a lot of alcohol.
