Everyone wears skinny jeans where I live. And no, they're not all gay.

Yes we would change it. Afterwhich we would go through an age-of-forgetting that gays made it the fashion and immerge into the new era with a blissful ignorance.

Yeah like i said twice above we would eventually get there. Also when non locals where it we know instinctually better not to frown upon those who are wearing them.

I don't think pants can be "gay."
    People can be gay.
    Pants are... pants.

I dressed up as an Emo kid for Halloween once with cuts on my arm. I borrowed some jeans from a gal pal. They fit so snug and great, and really made my butt stand out. But never again.

More stupid than crocs?! Come now man.

Cool, trendy, and social statements are completely valid terms. Whether you want to be or not, you're either being cool and saying statements, or you're being uncool and saying statements anyways. When I wear cargo shorts, sneakers, baggy t-shirts and no make up into a lesbian bar, you bet your ass everyone assumes I'm a butch sort of lesbian. That's the statement I made. I can correct that statement later, but you're constantly broadcasting something with the way you look.. whether that message is: I'm hip, I'm cool, I look great, I don't give a fuck, I'm modest and proper, I'm very lady like, I like to pretend to be strong, I REALLY love cats, I'm very comfortable right now, the color black is the only thing that works for me, I'm busty so I'm not going to wear cute summer dresses, etc. etc. etc.

Everything says something about you when you wear it. Even if you don't want it to.. Just like, to you, people wearing skinny jeans are being stupid and ridiculous for it.. People probably think your clothing is stupid and ridiculous. It's the way it goes.

The best answer here revolves around the differences between body types. As someone who has very skinny calves, they work ok for me. Plus I love them with boots.

That said, I wonder if you just didn't get a good skinny cut for your body type. There's quite a lot of skinny jean variation from one brand to the other. And if you found that pair as tight as you say, I wonder if you simply needed the next size up.

Plus, get the ones with a bit of lycra or spandex blend. Much more comfy.

Oh and I loved legwarmers. Made me look like I had calves!

I am at a university and it is a lot more varied.

Probably because I studying Music and English, I will have ended up with a lot of IxFx types. And no, they're not all gay, and are probably quite nice people mostly. But they're just one group. Not "everyone" dresses that way.

None of the options on the poll I agree with. I'd say they work well on some, and not so well on others, regardless of gender.

As @PeaceBaby said, it depends on your body type and the cut of the jeans.
