My Mom called me this morning for Mother's Day (I was going to call her later), and pushed upon me that I really should have sent a card. I reminded her that I haven't sent anyone a card for any holiday or birthday or anything in years, and she further explained, "Yeah, I feel it's my responsibility to tell you that you should really start doing that."
I guess there's nothing "bad" about sending cards, but.... /sigh
I texted her last night to see if she wanted to get lunch today. We went to a cheap taco place and she ordered a taco burger. They are kinda gross, but that's what she said she wanted. I got cheese enchiladas.
I forgot to get her a gift or card so I gave her one of the basil plants I bought myself Friday.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.” ~ John Rogers
