This TED talk has a bunch of likes and views. To me, it's a mark of the fact that TED started strong, but has become increasingly about platitudes.
This woman got a TED talk, and yet she has nothing to say. So she combined bad stand up with some recycled platitudes about creativity, tossed in a little bit about herself, and pretended to be disadvantaged (which is absurd; if she's on that platform she's one of life's biggest winners).
New rule: If you are speaking at TED, you are not allowed to feel sorry for yourself. Period. There's no excuse for that level of self-pity.
Anyway, if she had a serious argument it would be different. But she literally has nothing to say. She just vapidly asserts a bunch of things she's heard over the years, and sounds vaguely positive while she talks about 'regaining wonder', whatever that is supposed to mean.
Do you guys agree with my very negative assessment of this TED talk?
