    This is kinda interesting, I thought, though perhaps not directly related. (Link to article) Lots of charts about US food imports/exports.

    “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    Yeah.

    ETA: If we're sending food to China in the equivalent of what would feed the state of Ohio for a year, and a lot of that is pork, and soon they may want to buy beef from us as well, then factory farming will continue because it's necessary for that quantity of production. That's what I'm thinking.

    I was a vegetarian for a long time. But I didn't feel well a lot of the time. I have felt better since I started eating meat again, though it's a bit of a battle for me mentally to eat meat. Ugh, especially if I see something that makes me feel squeamish about flesh. I'm thinking about going back to being a vegetarian as I've since figured out I'm allergic to gluten and that that is probably why I didn't feel at my best while I was a veg. I only ever could really eat beef as most other flesh kind of icks me out. Frankly, I'd like to ditch dairy as well because it doesn't make me feel very energized. It's too bad I can't just pop a pill of some sort and not have to even bother with food.

    @Noll

    So your point is mac users are vegetarians? Or that this guy is a vegetarian and uses a mac? I use a mac, and I love steak.

    You know what, forget it.

    Its a picture of Japanoise animal rights activist-artist Merzbow. I think the joke was that this guy uses a mac(so hes rich) yet claims meat is murder? In other words, he was illsutrating your point, wheres the confusion, lol?
