Default Do you think there is anything wrong with not wanting to ever die?

I mean...I'm just being honest with myself.

    I don't want to die.

I love life. I love it.

And I don't want to not experience it.

Even if that means giving up experiencing death...

    Then, I'd do it.

I just don't want to die. Ever.

Maybe I'm weird...but man, this is awesome! Life!

And the fact that I won't be here to see all its awesomeness..

    Just sucks.

    Is that so wrong?

Don't think there's anything wrong with it, but I think anyone would go mental if they lived longer than 200 years or so.
I actually think the prospect of death is quite soothing. Not that I long for it.

Any more mental than I am right now, though? I doubt it.

I would do so much if this was never going to end. I'd conquer earth. Then I'd conquer space. Then I'd have a family.

The funny thing is though...even if I could live forever, a part of me knows...deep down..that I'd elect to end it eventually.

Or some guy would have decided to kill me...because, man, I wouldn't have bowed to no one. Like, now, we're not really playing for keeps. We all die eventually, like it or not. So, to me...there's no real point. Just have fun, take care of family, contribute to society...then die, and see (or not) what that's all about.

But, if we were playing for keeps? If I wasn't just living for my death?
I'd have been a straight beast.

If there is, than there's something wrong with me.

Yup...Probably @highlander by chopping off your head. There can be only 1.

Seriously man...living forever = hell. There's only so much human stupidity I can bare to witness.

The drive for selfpreservation is arguably our very strongest instinct. So no.

I even doubt that someone ever truly wants to die. Suicide is never about seeking death, but escaping your circumstances.

Survivors of suicide attempts all say the same thing: They felt regret right after swallowing the pills/slitting their wrists/whatever method of suicide that allows you some time to call for help. That's what saved them.

On their deathbeds, even staunch atheists begin to embrace beliefs in reincarnation or an afterlife, alleviating the fear of total annihilation.

    Nothing wrong going on here.

You're just a fully functioning human being.

That is your downside to living an immortal life?

I've wanted to be immortal ever since I knew what it meant.

I don't want to die either. I love life SO much. Especially since I had children. I feel like I wasn't even fully alive before I had them.

Edit: Though another part of me is much more at peace with dying since I had them. It feels all very "circle of life". :-( + :-)

I don't think when you're young it is. But I've casually observed in the elderly, they reach a point where they're like I've lived long enough. this happened to my grandpa, he decided he wasn't going to live past 90 died at 90 of natural causes. So the fact you don't want to die now is a good thing, but you're not gonna know how you're going to feel at 90
    In no likes experiment.

    that is all

i dunno what else to say so

I don't want to die. I feel the same as you @xisnotx. I love being alive and experiencing the world.
