I don't know if anyone deserves more ridicule or hate -- so my answers have more to do with what behaviors bother me, that don't seem to bother others as much.

Yeah pretty much this. If I'm to succeed in my interactions with someone, I need to have some kind of read on them. I need to have an idea of who they are and what they want. And if they are constantly obscuring that, presumably for their own entertainment or to prove some kind of irrelevant point? then I have absolutely nothing to go on, except that they clearly find their trolling/rebellion to be more important than the task at hand.

They're intentionally being confusing, and it makes me want to beat my head on a wall. In those situations I either force them to delcare something, change the focus so it gets away from the ambiguity, try and make them to go away, or I go away myself. UGH. WHY. I don't understand why people can be like this. Worst is, when you ask them why, they won't even answer that.

I feel like there's a good story behind this.

People that interrupt me when I'm talking because the pause I put between two words was too long. Like can you wait half a second so I can finish my sentence?

People who hate for no reason.
Boring people, because they tend to be the kind of people who hate for no reason.
People who inflict pain on others.
People who don't think people hurting others is a big deal.

Gee, I sound so NF now.

Most of these sound like people who already are thought of as bad and deserving of scorn.

    -

A pet peeve of mine is people who say "it's all relative" or "it depends on the individual".

No, generalizations won't tell you how a given person is going to act or think. But it doesn't mean you can't make predictions and assumptions based on observed and verified patterns of behaviour.

Many times I find people who begin like that won't actually deliver a real answer ("It's all individual, man... Could be X, could be Y, could be Z, we can't tell.") and evade any attempt at trying to find a grain of truth in whatever topic is discussed.

Why are people so averse to generalizations? Is it an attack on their individuality? Are they afraid that people will use these generalizations to make assumptions about them? Or do they really deny the validity of making generalizations altogether?
