    Default Utopia

Pitch in an idea that seems beneficial to the world we live in.
No matter how small or big, reasonable or ludicrous. Mentioned before or totally new. Patented or not. In or out of the box.

    Here goes :

Centralized urban living and more green space
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Generosity in place of greed. It would solve pretty much everything.

My pitch is a completely reformed system of education. I'm not sure exactly how it would work yet but I would want a way to standardize curriculum across urban and rural areas and also standardize the resources that schools provide. Not standardize in a way that makes each school look like a replica of the other but just to sort of even out the opportunity available from one school to the next.

It would also involve firing the vast majority of "teachers" and "principals" across the country and instituting higher standards of education involved to be employed in those positions and probably background work in another field. In order to draw those people into the profession, it would involve paying teachers better but imo, also changing the perception of the field (which instituting more selective measures would probably do anyway).

School days would also have to involve way more outdoor time and more physical activity. There would be more healthy food available.

And there would be WAY more instruction about careers and about selecting/training for a well-suited job at an early age. I feel like there's this gap between schooling and what jobs are actually like that is counterproductive. Also, there's a lot of stuff that you learn that you never use...just hoops that you have to jump through. I would want to nix all that stuff.

Removal of party politics. Put in place politics based on individuals and individual ideas.
Longer terms than the usual 4 years. Larger parlements etc. with a system that brings in newly elected people but only for a percentage of the total parlement/government.
Imho we need to avoid that governments are entirely put upside down every 4 years. Because that makes long term vision impossible.
In most places, half of the politics, installed somewhere, are completely reverted every 4 years.

Probably because of becoming a totalitarian state.

Genetically engineer all people to perform certain tasks in society before they are born, and condition them to love their place in society and their job and feel as though they are in the best position possible for their personality. Then, suppress any individualized thought by exiling those who do not participate in the community or go against the community's values so as to not disturb everyone else's apparent happiness, and form a reward system for people who put forward hard work in the jobs they love and are programmed to do with a drug that will allay any negative feelings experienced and essentially work as an emotional pain-killer.

    Ain't that right, Huxley?
