I really, really hate having to plunge into an abyss because of a disagreement with my dad.

    Daddy issues.....not just for women.....

How about this: act on the way you would if he was no longer living. You are an adult and can do things for your own reasons. Plus, reacting to your father our his ideals is not taking responsibility for your choices

I already resolved it. I'm probably going to move to be closer to them, soon. I love Philly, and I'd stay if I had strong friendships or family here, but I don't.

This comment really creeped me out, because I was literally just putting my Warby Parker box together five minutes ago. (I used to have a pair of them, then switched to non-Warby Parker for a year, and now want to try them again.)

But to answer your question... It's a whole lot of things, lol. Including the Warby Parkers.

I've always been the sort of person to genuinely care about the wellbeing of others - or the one to try regardless of relationship and personal biases - and I loved and still love helping the others around me - whether they wanted me to be the person to vent to or the person they'd ask advice from. Just... anything, really. But it's gotten to the point where I feel like that's all I'll ever be. I've not long ago came to the conclusion that "helping" others would be something I'd focus in on for the rest of my life but the lack of reciprocation for that is what really gets to me. I don't feel like I'm my own person sometimes when I'm with others. To be fair, I never usually take the initiative to be assertive about how I feel but there's this push-and-pull... feeling that any attention given to me really isn't worth it, which gets me back to square one all over again. It's just a never-ending cycle of feeling like I need to take a stand and then go through a process of interal fights between different perspectives of how I feel, and eventually always choose that keeping to myself will be better in the long-run than saying much of anything. I keep quiet. Listen, give advice, and do whatever I need to do to serve the others around me even with the realization that I don't feel content with the relationships I've been forming.

I'm awesome with not knowing when things are going badly, as in ... I'm literally always the last person to know. I think this takes incredible skill and optimism.

I feel guilty for playing video games, but familiar, closed systems are so comforting...
