    I'm just cheap, and don't care.

    i think you should tip as extravagantly as you possibly can for your lifestyle.

    I suppose it depends on the size of the tip.

    "Men give according to their faith or ac-
    cording to their pleasure. Therefore, he who
    frets about food or drink given to others does
    not enjoy peace of mind either by day or by
    night.

    But he in whom that feeling is destroyed,
    rooted out, he enjoys peace of mind by day and
    by night."

    Every answer, seriously.

    I hate the concept of tipping. It drives me nuts and I wish I lived in a culture where it wasn't expected. The thing about it that drives me nuts is there is no consistency, and it is left to the interpretation of the individual(s) to determine what something is worth. This can lead to some being paid too much or too little. Both aren't fair. It's a social rule that just makes me very uncomfortable. I have since applied an internal standard for myself so that way I can at least impart my own stability with it. At resturants I always tip 20%, even if they do a bad job. At other situations where tipping is expected, I sort of sit and wait to see what other people do and then match that. What's worse is when someone tries to tip me or over pay me. It makes me profoundly uncomfortable. Because A, I don't want it, and B, it makes it worse if you refuse.

    In general I despise the complexity of money. I want it to be SIMPLE as possible, and tipping goes in the other direction of that.

    ^ what @Hard said. Sucks as a system, but as a former server, refusal to tip on principle means your server is losing money to serve you. Being over-tipped always made me feel weird though. I felt undeserving.

    The whole thing is uncomfortable and unnecessarily complicated.
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.
