Default New Yorker Cartoonist Liza Donnelly

Hey y'all, in an hour and a half, I have to interview Liza Donnelly, the New Yorker cartoonist and TED speaker, for work. She's on a publicity tour for her new book, "Women on Men."

If anyone has any good ideas for things to discuss with her, please share! (Also, yes, yes, everyone make fun of me for procrastinating this much.)
    RobertCalifornia: TL thinks im black
    RobertCalifornia: shes my homegurl
    Hive: arent you
    SpankyMcfly: wait... you arent?

thoughtlost: I am not really religious. I just like getting free stuff from churches.

Are they personal issues for her?

Ask her if she's ever heard of MBTI. If she has, what's her type. Ask her how much of her cartoons are her. Ask her if doing this work has been as cathartic as it looks like it would be.

I looked at the samples in the book (big cartoon fan here) and found about 20 more in google images, but eh, I guess it's not my kind of humor. Only one I thought was funny was this one:

I'll post the interview too, you guys! I'm also gonna throw a few questions out there.

How does an idea for a cartoon come about? Observation? Reflection?

How long does it take to sketch initially?

How much editing goes into that cartoon?

What made her want to compile a book of cartoons about gender at this time in particular?

So, interesting that you guys both brought up the idea of catharsis or whether the cartoons are personal. Will definitely ask.

Is the field of cartooning (? not sure if that's the right word) male-dominated? If so (or even if not) how has she felt like the community has received her and her work?
