What's a "Johnathon"? Is it an endurance test for plumbers?

    Perhaps you meant "Jonathan."

I think that would be more embarrassing in a libel case.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

I can't help but note that the young nymphets are failing to flock in here in droves.

I think entp isn't going to make the shortlist on the 'sensitive and gentle' criteria.

I got a pretty good number when Aelan set up the poll. But it's true, most of them will and did claim to be too old for me. And then a lot of them are geographically very far away.

The person with the highest total score, if we were to add up the combined factors of interest, proximity, and youth, is... Whatever.

If I were entirely taken over by fascination, I might try to put the moves on her, but... I have several concerns other than fascination. You've only got one life to live, you know? I'm not sure if it's such a good idea to subject such an important and large part of life to pure experimentation. And that's what a relationship with Whatever would be. One big experiment.

    What I was saying was:
A relationship is a very serious thing. It's especially serious for an intimate person like me. It takes a lot of time, a lot of energy, and has substantial emotional and practical impact on one's life.

Because of how serious a thing it is, it would seem unwise to do something really risky with it. By most accounts, an experiment is usually risky, because you don't know what you are going to get, and there's a big element of trial and error.

So, taking an entirely experimental approach to seeking a romantic relationship would mean gambling with a substantial part of my life.
That might be bad. So, I will avoid doing it, as I typically avoid doing bad things.

Magic, I read the words, and I know the meaning of each individual word... but as for the content of the paragraphs, you might as well have been explaining architecture to a snail.

My native approach to everything in life, even the important things... hell, especially the important things... is to poke at them and see what they do. I try this, I try that, I see what works, I see what I like. I explore.

Because as wise as I might be, if I don't lay something on the line I'm never going to end up with any more than I've got... and the clock is ticking.

I respect how seriously you take the idea of relationship. That's appropriate. It's extremely rare in a man of your age, and... if I may be so bold... it's what makes you a catch. But...

If you never take a risk, you've already lost.

You're an INTP. I should have known.

Okay, here goes... I learned this by working with Jennifer:

You are never going to have all the information you require to make a fully informed decision. Sometimes the best you can do with crucial life-changing decisions is take your best educated guess.

    Sorry.
