^ gah, I want to follow you around in all threads, because of your avatar / stalking mousie

    - don't just do your job well, exceed their fucking expectations (and yours). Make them re-evaluate how/if they're truly utilizing you to your fullest capacity, with every thing you do. Wondrous things will follow.
    - "Debating" (arguing) in medidation class is counter-productive. But, really, when they start saying shit like your chakras and soul and afterlife, and how you should always be on a quest to learn, grow, it's really just saying, question me if what I say does not make sense, because I want you to learn/grow. And I did. And it was not welcomed. Go figure.
    - there is a difference between growing old and growing up (both can, and do, happen at all stages in your life)

To try as I might to see the humanity in others.
As annoying as it is, open communication is crucial in maintaining good friendships.

    Oh man, where to begin.

    - Having a support system is ESSENTIAL
    - Asking friends for help doesn't make me needy or burdensome
    - Most people are about three times more forgiving of me than I am of myself
    - Self-punishment is essentially beating myself down when I should be lifting myself up
    - LOVE THYSELF

I don't think I've learned anything completely, but I feel like I've come a long way in beginning to learn a lot of things, such as:

    1. just because people you respect wouldn't do what you want to do doesn't mean it's bad or even less than ideal; differences in opinion from superiors isn't always something bad or to punish yourself for.

    2. You can't always get what you want. This isn't necessarily restricted to inconsequential/ easily gotten over issues.

    3. Mick Jagger is good...very good.

    4. Alcohol as a consistent reward is probably a bad idea, but it makes for some pretty damn honest and self-reflective writing if you've had enough.

    5. There's a difference between being dependent on or making blatantly destructive decisions due to use of a substance and having a pattern of use that causes concern.

This year: I learned it is acceptable to gun down "suspicious" black children when they walk down the street in your neighborhood.

When dreaming's this hard it's not meant to come true.

All this time I was finding myself. And I didn't know I was lost.

We'll never be royals. It don't run in our blood.

    This is it, the apocalypse.

But mostly the hard dream isn't meant to come true so don't be a dolt and think it will.

The last year was one of those heavily formative years... learned:

    1. I am a fucking M1 Abrams tank for emotional and physical pain.
    2. Because of ^^^ I can be effective at getting what I want through persistence alone, but I really need to learn what kinds of things should be gone after this way.
    3. My self worth is tied to my perception of personal achievement.
    4. Don't drink coffee before important events where I need to be able to think clearly.
    5. Vietnamese steamed buns are the best steamed buns.
