Probably around a 7 but I also have the brain-can't-shut-up e6 overanalysis, too, so that kind of messes with it. It's like happy but a bit anxious.

I'm pretty happy generally, and I agree that some people are just happier than other people. My base emotion is on the 'positive' side, I think.

I don't think I can put it on a scale, but I am usually somewhere between happiness and sadness.

I like it that way, if I could describe it, it's like the feeling you get when you see a person smile on their deathbed.
'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.

I second this emotion. It's like a way of coping even when things suck.

This is a much tougher question than it should be.

I'm 'naturally' bipolar, with baseline dysthymia (below average). With actual treatment of the ol' neurotransmitowhatsits, that's corrected and I'm at what I consider my actual baseline. However, at this particular time of year, regardless of treatment, seasonal affective disorder (untreated part of the bipolar) kicks in, bringing my baseline down. So, lots of factors there.

If we don't count all of that--when treated effectively--I'm pretty well above average but not naively so. Negative external situations exist, sure, but they have silver linings and opportunities.

I had a distant relative that would take out their emotions on you. So I KNEW if she was having a bad day because when I said, "Hello!" She would basically scowl. Uggh So uncomfortable. I just could never do that to someone.

I'm a 5, usually neither happy nor unhappy, just kind of, existing. I actually don't think about my moods much, but when I do they're usually at 10 or 0. The interesting thing that is irl, I'm probably usually perceived as a 7, and my worst moods are very well contained.
