    I do, very much so.

    For me it has two different connotations. First there is the public aspect of it. Over here, that aint such a big deal as it is in the States, but for instance last year, we did a Halloween week with scary movies, a bunch of Supernatural episodes and freaky food overload.

    Then, there is the Sabbat of Samhain. While I dont always get the chance to celebrate it as elaborately as I'd like, it is a time of year that I reminisce on the people I've lost. Especially that year. This year will be...a doozy, in that respect. Allegedly, our dead find their way back home, the Veil is lifted for one night and we get to feel their presence once more. i'll be burning a candle for them to find their way back.

    Next, there is the reflection on the last year and the cutting out of the dead wood and planning for the next year. Time to make plans, to reevaluate what worked, and what no longer does, as such.

    It is also a time of year to celebrate Life after celebrating the Dead and it is said that Samhain, along with Beltane (Eve of 1st of may), was the one day that marital bonds ceased to exist in the name of fertility and life. Time for the final Harvest to be brought in, to enjoy the spoils of all the hard work that year, and all the fruits the earth has to offer. Time to have one last feast before the bitter winter, and feel alive in every way you can

    I like toffee apples the most probably, I saw an animated film based upon Ray Bradbury's Halloween Tree and it was fantastic.

    Also fireworks, bonfires and potatos cooked in tin foil in the dying embers.

    The AVGN count downs of monster movies in October, the movies themselves, I think horror films are stupid for the most part but they are also amusing. Proper horrors which are not video nasties that is.

    I LOVE this time of year. It could be fall all year long and I would be happy. Longer, chilly nights, leaves changing, harvest, putting stuff up for winter, flannel sheets on the beds.....
    I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

    I love fall. The smell, the colors, the way it gets dark early and how the days are so drearily dull.

    I don't get super excited about holidays, though, I don't know.

    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.

    too lofty for me to attain.
