I remember picking up a book from a charity shop about combining western and chinese astrological signs. My main view is that it is a lot of fun to read about, but it has little substance to back it up, at least in the simplistic form it was presented.

Apparently I am a Capricorn/Dragon. I do know there is a large amount of astrology most people never get into or read about, such as ascendant, rising signs and...lots and lots of other elements and angles which I've never read up on.

Despite this I could never shake the view that it is largely, or rather a large amount of it, is nonsense.

Which is annoying because it is interesting and was where I started my foray into finding out about a self before finding subjects such as typology.

It all sounds incredibly superficial and lacking in intellectual conviction when I put it that way, but that was what is was for me, originally. But I realised that you as a person can't really be told or explained in such a rigid manner.

At best such things are a guideline, at worst they are a dangerous cage.
'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.

Everything about me can be explained with my astrological chart. If you get creative enough.

That's why I was mentioning that more superficial take on astrology, I know nothing of the more advanced stuff.
